Hi, my name is Laura Stephenson and I have been teaching at Lobley Hill Primary School for 8 years. Before I started here I completed a joint honours degree in Art and English Literature at York St John University, I then spent time working in the private sector for a few years. After that I came to Lobley Hill SCITT to train to be a teacher and I was lucky enough to be offered a job here when my training year was over.
I feel so lucky to be able to work at Lobley Hill Primary School, I have loved teaching in lots of different year groups from year 2 up to year six over my time here. I feel that I am now part of the Lobley Hill community and I enjoy taking part in community events and supporting our families in many different ways. Within school I am a class teacher to year six as well as holding a TLR position leading English across school. I am passionate about my subject and I am striving to make our English Curriculum engaging, current and challenging for all of our students.
When I am not in school I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my twin nephews. As they are 3 years old at the moment I spend the majority of my time at play parks and soft play areas which they absolutely love. I also enjoy reading a range of different books, however, Harry Potter will always be my favourite!
